Happy 6th Birthday Hailey!
Ok- her birthday was March 26th, but better late than never.
She saw this dessert illustrated in a book and wanted it. I said, "okay dokay!" A pile of ice cream surrounded by oreos...so easy. It would've looked cute with pink and brown ice cream too, but she wanted vanilla.
On her birthday (a Wednesday): she chose her dinner and activities-> pasta with chx and veggies, fruit salad, caesar salad and garlic bread. Then we went to the park, came back and sang happy birthday, and watched "Enchanted."We had the family over on Friday and had another birtday party for her with a big birthday cookie. We also had a special Saturday for her. We went to see "Horton hears a Who" and walked the mall. She bought some toys at the toy store with her birthday money (from grandparents... thank you); and then she did this....
see that little something in her ear? She got her ear's pierced. She didn't even flinch. Such a tough girl.
This is for Grandma D. Thanks for all of the cute outfits, etc. And since I wrote one last year... here is a little note about your pesonality Hailey Noelle.
Dear Hailey,
Wow! I can't believe my girl is six year's old. You started kindergarten this year and absolutely love it. You are doing very well! It is so fun to see you learning to read.... it seems it has all started to click and you are suddenly picking it up quickly. We were playing "Scene it" the other night and you read, "All play to win." It is so cute to see your excitement! You feel very proud of yourself.
Your teacher says that you are a little perfectionist. Your handwriting is impressive. (I should scan a piece... except I need a scanner.) You come home everyday and empty out the papers from your backpack, hang your backpack on a hook, and then take your shoes off and put them on the shelf. (Kaden still needs reminding to do some of these things.) I can tell you like order.
You are pretty independent. You will take a shower by yourself, and wash and condition your hair. I usually bring you a towel, but then you dry off, put your dirty clothes away, and go get yourself clean underwear and jammies. You also grab a comb and brush your own hair out.
You love girly things and have become very picky about your clothing. You like to look pretty, but do not want to stand out at all (the not wanting to "stand out" part reminds me of me). This goes for hair styles too... it can't be too 'different'. It worries me that you care already what others think.. I think this goes along with being somewhat shy. I always wished that I didn't care so much about what others thought when I was young. (I don't care so much as an adult.)
You can be a little tease to your brother.. you can definitely 'hold your own'. You also like to tattle-tell on him. Most of the time you guys get along though. You usually play very rough with him.. lot's of chasing, pillow bopping, wrestling, dancing, smacking each other, etc. Usually someone ends up hurt or crying... and mom doesn't want to hear it (I'm very compassionate like that).
You are still a sweetheart to dad and I, and very rarely need a time out. You are very obedient and usually say, "Sure mom", when I ask you to do something. You also are willing to try any food placed in front of you. I don't think we have ever had a food battle with you. The only time you get reprimanded is when you tease your brother or get too whiny about something. However, that being said, you are not a very whiny little girl compared to many.... thank goodness. You are quite the trooper, except when extremely tired. You hit this wall around 8pm every night and actually tell us you want to go to sleep.
You like to do what is right and have very good self control. You are very honest. I love this about you. (You remind me a little of Aunt Hollie in that way).
Hailey, we are so happy that you came to our family. We love you very much! I feel so blessed to be your mother. Happy 6th Birthday!
Love,
Mom
